We are proud to announce that the Leon ST has won its second towing title, awarded at the Royal Automobile Club. The Leon ST took the award in the £20k-£25k category, beating out eleven other nominees. The judges said “The load-lugging Leon ST 2.0 TDI 184PS kept its torquey feel and produced punch whenever and wherever it was required.”
On top of that, the car was also awarded Caravan Club Towcar of the Year 2015, beating out several strong nominees including the Volvo XC60 D5, Peugeot 308 and Mitsubishi Outlander.
The awards show is judged by nine people, who concluded that the sporty yet stylish Leon ST 2.0 TDI 184PS would win both the £20k-£25k category and Towcar of the Year. The Leon ST is nothing short of stylish, with its Latin design and sporty characteristics that give it its effective practicality. It also has a 587-litre boot, which can grow to 1,470 litres when you fold the rear seats flat. Whether you’re lugging bikes, fishing equipment or camping gear, the Leon ST is ready for all challenges.
Apart from being able to consume fuel at a rate of just 65.7 miles per gallon, it’s far from a heavy weight, weighing just 1,415 makes it one of the lightest estates in its class.
When receiving the award at the Royal Automobile Club in London’s Pall Mall, SEAT UK’s Head of Press & PR, Juliet Carrington commented, “The Leon ST’s only been on sale for a few months, so to haul in its second & third award in just a matter of weeks is fantastic. It’s practical, stylish and packed with technological features like Adaptive Cruise Control and Dynamic Chassis Control, making it a great towing partner. Hopefully, this is its first of many in the months ahead.”
SEAT is introducing a new vehicle in the coming months that’s bound to grow its towing range, with the release of the brand-new Leon X-PERIENCE. The tough looking, four-wheel-drive vehicle will be available in a range of diesel engines as well as the availability of the effortless DSG transmission for smooth cruising.
