Excitement is building ahead of the launch of SEAT's first ever SUV, the Ateca. The powerful off roader arrives at Miller and Middleton in September, with order books opening in May.
A number of models will be available to meet a range of budgets and driving needs.
Starting at £17,990, the 'S' model comes complete with the Media System Touch five-inch touchscreen and includes USB and SD connectivity, air conditioning, plus a leather covered steering wheel and gear-knob. The split-folding rear seats have a useful reclining function, while visually the S delivers true style, with LED daytime running lights and 16-inch ‘Design’ alloy wheels.
Investing in the SE version, owners will benefit from cruise control, dual-zone climate control, rear parking sensors and heated, folding door mirrors. The even more powerful Media System Plus features an eight inch colour touchscreen, SD card slot, USB/Aux-in port, eight speakers, Bluetooth audio streaming, hands-free and voice control. On the wheels are 17 inch 'Dynamic' alloys while the rear is enhanced with LED taillights and black roof rails.
The Xcellence trim adds a good deal more kit, with Connectivity Hub with Wireless Phone Charger (with in-car phone signal booster), together with a range of ambient coloured lighting set-ups; eight colours can be selected to suit the occupants' mood. Adding to the visual allure of the Xcellence version is a welcome light which beams the 'Ateca' logo on to the ground, while driving pleasure is further boosted by SEAT’s Drive Profile with Driving Experience selector. This innovation lets the driver modify the car's setup (such as steering, throttle response and gear change speeds) depending on personal preferences and weather conditions. Four Wheel Drive versions will include Off-road and Snow modes.
The kit gets even more impressive with the Convenience Pack option, adding auto-dimming rear view mirror, automatic lights and wipers, and an automatic 'coming' and 'leaving' home-lights system. It also boasts Keyless Enter & Go ('KESSY'), high resolution display, 3D map screen, two SD lots and a digital radio system. The Convenience Pack also includes black leather seating, rear-view system and Winter Pack, which features a headlight washer system and heated front seats.
The top specification version also includes 18-in 'Performance' alloy wheels, chromium window surrounds, roof rails and double exhausts. The range-topping set-up is completed with dark tinted rear windows and LED lights.
The impressive standard safety kit features Front Assist with City Emergency Braking and Pedestrian Protection, in addition to Tiredness Recognition. The entire range also benefits from seven airbags, ASR traction control, electronic differential lock (XDS), ESC, Hill Hold Control and a tyre pressure monitor.
A wide range of engines will be available with the Ateca, comprising two petrol and three diesel units. The top-spec version will deliver 190PS.
