The annually anticipated Geneva Motor Show has taken place. The event lived up to its expectation as the showground for the most innovative, technology forward, car showcase in the world.
Showground for SEAT
The Geneva Motor Show showcases world-renowned brands every year and SEAT have previously experienced great success at the event.
For the first time, the CUPRA brand was presented to the public as a new standalone sporting brand, set to rival Abarth and DS. The CUPRA Ateca led the launch and turned heads as a unique model in its segment with 300 PS, the 4Drive all-wheel-drive system and a new 7-speed DSG gearbox, which will power the car into a new age.
The brand also premiered the sensational CUPRA e-Racer. The ambitious new vehicle will deliver 300 kW of continuous power and up to 500 kW of peak power. It will be the first 100% electric touring car in the world, yet another incredible achievement for SEAT.
SEAT were relentless as they went on to reveal the new ‘Digital Cockpit,’ which will be present in the CUPRA Ateca, SEAT Leon CUPRA R ST, Leon FR and the Arona. As an interactive display, the Digital Cockpit has a modern and versatile design. It improves functionality and can be customised to suit any kind of driver preference.
Incredibly, SEAT didn’t stop there. The announcement that Shazam was also set to be released in SEAT cars from April onwards. SEAT are the first car manufacturers to actively team up with the innovative music recognition service and the possibilities are somewhat startling, leaving all those in attendance at the Geneva Motor Show in excitement.
Other highlights of the event?
Innovative technologies were certainly the highlight and focus of the event, with brands showcasing their contributions to an electric driven future. The Jaguar i-Pace was subject to significant reviews as Jaguar’s first electric car and was a huge taking point at this year's event.
The Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo showcased the brands focus on a future of electric sports cars, an incredibly important moment for a historic brand.
The Range Rover SV Coupe, with only 999 to be made, the all-new two-door model impressed at the show.
